Ode to a rock

Author’s notes: Ode to a rock is one of my favorite poems. Much of my work focuses on my relationship with my children, and the wonder and mystery they bring to our daily lives. As adults, we often forget to notice the beauty in the ordinary (or not so ordinary when we really think about it.) The way in which children observe and notice objects or elements we simply dismiss, such as a rock, is in part what inspired this poem. I hope you enjoy it, and as always, thanks for reading. :)
